FRONT ROYAL -- Police will be participating in a crackdown on impaired driving over the next few weeks.
"Alcohol-impaired driving is no accident nor is it a victimless crime," Chief Richard H. Furr says in a news release. "Making the conscience decision to get behind the wheel while impaired can be a life-changing decision that you may regret making."
The crackdown is part of a state and national campaign sponsored by the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Where's my red sharpie when I need it?
One makes a "conscious" decision, which then in turn may weigh upon one's "conscience."
But if you are sufficiently intoxicated, both one's consciousness and conscientiousness may be significantly impaired. However, they are by no means the same thing! I personally prefer to drink just to the point that my conscience is impaired, but not my consciousness... otherwise, I couldn't take advantage of the benefits of the first impairment.
