EDINBURG -- A home on Swover Creek Road west of town was destroyed by fire shortly before midnight Tuesday.
The fire was reported at 11:42 p.m. at 3036 Swover Creek Road, according to Gary Yew, chief of the Shenandoah County Fire and Rescue Department. He described the home as a 1 1/2-story log house.
Firefighters were on the scene until 4 a.m., he said.
He identified the owner as Charles Lafolic and said the Red Cross is assisting him with housing.
