STRASBURG -- A man was arrested early Monday morning after discharging a handgun following a domestic dispute in Strasburg, according to authorities.
Strasburg Police Chief Tim Sutherly said officers responded to the 900 block of Seldon Drive at approximately 9:30 on Sunday evening.
He said the suspect, who was identified as Gregory Pete Thompson, 26, of 514 Bel Air Ave., Front Royal, had fled by the time police arrived at the scene.
Witnesses claimed they heard shots after Thompson had been involved in a domestic dispute with an ex-girlfriend, according to Sutherly.
Officer L.W. Lineweaver obtained arrest warrants for Thompson and apprehended him shortly after midnight without incident.
Thompson was charged with brandishing a firearm, discharging a firearm within town limits, disorderly conduct and reckless handling of a firearm.
Sutherly said Thompson was held without bond in the Warren County Jail, and then transferred to Shenandoah County Jail on Tuesday, where he remains held without bond.
