STAR TANNERY -- Authorities are looking for a person suspected of robbing several people at gunpoint outside a Frederick County restaurant late Tuesday night.
A group of three women went to the Four Corners Restaurant on Back Mountain Road late Tuesday night to meet a man, according to Capt. John Heflin, of the Frederick County Sheriff's Office. They arrived sometime between 10:30 and 11 p.m. and parked in the lot behind the restaurant, Heflin said Thursday. The man came to their vehicle.
Shortly thereafter a second man approached, knocked on a vehicle window and demanded the people inside hand over certain items, Heflin said. The suspect brandished a handgun while making the demands, according to Heflin. Once the victims complied, the suspect fled on foot and was last seen heading toward the front of the business, Heflin said.
No shots were fired and no injuries were reported, according to Heflin.
Witnesses described the suspect as a white male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing approximately 150 pounds, last seen wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, black boots, gloves and a black ski mask, Heflin said.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact investigator K.C. Bohrer at 667-0420 or Crime Solvers at 665-TIPS.
