*Woman pleads guilty in murder-for-hire plot against Strasburg woman

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. (AP) -- A West Virginia woman has pleaded guilty to trying to arrange the murder of a Virginia resident.
U.S. Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld II says 50-year-old Brenda Lee Swisher of Augusta pleaded guilty Wednesday to causing an individual to travel in interstate commerce from Virginia to Hampshire County to commit murder-for-hire.
A criminal complaint says Swisher tried to hire an undercover West Virginia State Police trooper for $3,500 to kill the wife of a former boyfriend. The intended victim lived in Strasburg, Va.
Swisher faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. A sentencing date hasn't been set.
