Two charged in theft of items

MAURERTOWN -- A Front Royal pair have been charged with grand larceny for allegedly taking items from a rental home.

Michelle Renee Bennett, 39, and Rodney Lee Bennett, 40, both of 1456 John Marshall Highway, Front Royal, were arrested Feb. 3, Shenandoah County Sheriff's Office Maj. Scott Proctor said.

He said they rented a home in the 400 block of Zion Church Road, Maurertown, and when they moved out took a washer and dryer and a dining room table and chairs, worth well more than $1,000.

The theft was reported Dec. 16.
