WINCHESTER -- The Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum named its new executive director on Friday.
Mary Braun assumes the role May 14 but plans to attend the museum's 16th birthday event April 22, according to a press release.
Braun joins the museum from St. Mary's College of Maryland where she served as director of the Boyden Gallery and Fine Art Collection.
Braun also directed the American Museum of Asmat Art in St. Paul, Minn.
Braun holds degrees in business management and the arts and is a gradute of the University of Pennsylvania, Brown University and the University of St. Thomas, the release states.
