Deputies probe break-in, theftsPolice: Firearms inside personal safe stolen from home March 12By Sally Voth -- svoth@nvdaily.com BASYE -- Two handguns were reported stolen during a recent break in on Linda Lane, according to the Shenandoah County Sheriff's Office. A personal fire safe was stolen from a home in the 400 block of Linda Lane on March 12, Lt. Darcy Dellinger said Tuesday. He said the safe was worth about $200. Inside the safe were two handguns -- a Beretta .9mm worth about $500 and a $300 Walter .22-caliber -- Dellinger said. He said forced entry had been made into the home. The Sheriff's Office is also investigating a recent larceny at the opposite end of the county. And, on March 15, a Central High School student reported someone took five candy bars and $20 in cash from the boys' locker room, Dellinger said.
