BASYE -- Two handguns were reported stolen during a recent break in on Linda Lane, according to the Shenandoah County Sheriff's Office.

A personal fire safe was stolen from a home in the 400 block of Linda Lane on March 12, Lt. Darcy Dellinger said Tuesday. He said the safe was worth about $200.

Inside the safe were two handguns -- a Beretta .9mm worth about $500 and a $300 Walter .22-caliber -- Dellinger said.

He said forced entry had been made into the home.

The Sheriff's Office is also investigating a recent larceny at the opposite end of the county.
Someone cut and removed four lead wires to campers in the 400 block of Mumaw Road, Strasburg between Feb. 19-March 12, Dellinger said. He said the wires are valued at an estimated $400.

And, on March 15, a Central High School student reported someone took five candy bars and $20 in cash from the boys' locker room, Dellinger said.

Anyone with any information on these larcenies is asked to call the Shenandoah County Sheriff's Office at 459-6100.
