Deputies were dispatched to the area of Old Schoolhouse and Zion Church roads for a report of a suspicious vehicle shortly after 12:30 a.m. on March 9, Lt. Darcy Dellinger said. Dellinger said Fuqua resisted arrest, and assaulted two deputies. The suspect also knocked off a cruiser's driver's side mirror, as well as dented and scratched the driver's side door, Delinger said. About $1,000 worth of damage was done. The deputies weren't injured, according to Dellinger. Besides DUI, Fuqua was charged with driving after his license was revoked, destruction of property and two counts of assault and battery on a law enforcement officer. A passenger in the car, Holly Leigh Roberts, 27, of 1115 Lakeview Drive, Woodstock, was charged with public intoxication, Dellinger said. Both Fuqua and Roberts are scheduled to appear in Shenandoah County General District Court on May 18. Copyright © The Northern Virginia Daily | nvdaily.com | 152 N.
