WOODSTOCK -- A grand jury indicted a Mt. Jackson man Wednesday accused of abusing and injuring his 8-month-old daughter in late February.
Oba Antonio Pardillo, 18, of 233 Orkney Drive, remains held without bail in the Shenandoah County Jail on single counts of aggravated malicious bodily injury, child endangerment and child abuse.
Pardillo appeared in Shenandoah County Circuit Court on Wednesday with his attorney, Anthony J. Harrer, after the grand jury handed down the indictments.
Judge Dennis L. Hupp granted Harrer's motion to evaluate Pardillo to determine the defendant's mental status at the time of the alleged offenses.
Emergency workers found the infant suffering from non-life-threatening injuries at Pardillo's home the morning of Feb. 23, according to Mt. Jackson Police Chief J.D. Fadley.
