Daily staff report
State police continue to investigate a head-on crash in New Market this morning that killed one driver.
A 2008 Kia Spectra was headed west on U.S. 211 just west of Runaway Lane when it crossed over the center line into the path of a three-axle feed truck just before noon, according to a news release from state police public relations director Corinne Geller.
The Kia driver was taken to Rockingham Memorial Hospital, and later died, the release states.
The truck driver, Ricky Thompson, 24, of Mt. Solon, wasn't injured, it states.
Speed was a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation, according to the release. The name of the Kia driver isn't being released pending notification of next of kin.

Another tragic crash and a life loss. If only people would slow down and use common sense on the roads. Unfortunately too many drivers think the rules do not apply to them.
Sadly another family will grieve for their loss.
If cars were not made to speed, some of these injuries could be avoided, however, profit is all that counts.
