The Shenandoah County Sheriff's Office is searching for the driver of a car that struck and injured a female pedestrian shortly after midnight Tuesday in the 5000 block of Woodstock Tower Road in Fort Valley.
Lt. Darcy Dellinger of the sheriff's office said the victim, a Fort Valley resident, was airlifted to Inova Fairfax Hospital with unknown injuries. Her name has not been released.
Dellinger said the victim told a deputy at the scene that she was hit by a small car as she was walking alone between 12 a.m. and 12:30 a.m. The make, model and color of the car remain unknown, Dellinger said.
Dellinger said anyone with information that could identify the driver or the vehicle should call the sheriff's office at 459-6100.
