Skyline set to hold graduation ceremony

Skyline High School will hold commencement exercises at 6 p.m. in their stadium on Wednesday as 236 seniors are set to receive their diplomas.

Of the 236 students, 31 of them achieved a GPA of 3.5 to 3.9. These students will be recognized during the ceremony.

12 seniors earned a 4.0 GPA or higher, making them Distinguished Honor Gradates. They will be called to the stage during graduation, and will receive a special stole.

Principal Andrew Keller and Class President Emilee Ritter will speak during the ceremony for the Class of 2012.

60 percent of the class will head to college, with 25 percent going to a four-year school and 35 percent heading to a two-year facility. 25 percent will join the work force.

$87,900 in local scholarships were awarded to students, and college awards brought the class $950,184. The total amount of money allocated to the Skyline graduates was $1,758,084.
