Our Health takes on partnership with Treatment Diaries Inc.

Two organizations, Our Health and Treatment Diaries Inc., are joining forces "to improve the health and well-being of the Winchester community by enhancing capacity, fostering collaboration, and improving outcomes," according to a release sent out Monday.
Our Health, a non-profit community resource, has partnerships with various agencies including Valley Health, Concern Hotline, Faith in Action, Healthy Families and free medical clinics, among others. Our Health also supports the Kendall Community Campus, which is located in downtown Winchester and houses 16 campus partners.
Treatment Diaries Inc is also located in Winchester, but is a global resource. The website, TreatmentDiaries.com, launched in 2011 as a social network allowing individuals to connect and discuss their various conditions.
Amy Ohm, President and founder of Treatment Diaries, feels the partnership makes sense.
"Look at the agencies that fall under the umbrella of Our Health ... that's what we do on a virtual level," she said. "We're really being recognized as an expert when it comes to patient social media."
The site, which is free to sign up for, allows for health related conversations with complete privacy. Ohm said that new conditions are added every day, but now there are discussions and posts on about 1,500.
"We're being viewed as a platform that understand the patient. We're delivering content and making connections," she said.
Ohm added the site will now promote agencies associated with Our Health because of the partnership, and Our Health will do the same for Treatment Diaries on their website.
"It's a reciprocal and mutual relationship, and I'm really excited about it," she said.
While Treatment Diaries will not have an office at the Kendall Community Campus, the organization will most likely co-host events there with Our Health.
