Winchester Public Schools Superintendent Ricky Leonard has been reappointed for another four years.
In a news release issued Friday, the School Board announced he was awarded a four-year contract starting July 1, and running through June 30, 2016.
It states he has been in the top spot for three years, after previously serving as an assistant superintendent for nine years. Leonard has previously worked as a teacher, coach, assistant principal and principal at Handley High School, according to the release.
"His dedication to the school system and the community has been unparalleled," Board Chairman Barry Deuel states in the release. "From his leadership through the building programs, to being the driving force in recruiting the best and brightest teachers and administrators to help our students reach their full potential, I can think of no one else who could have handled the tasks and done them with the professionalism and skills we have all come to admire and expect from him."
