Elizabeth McClung, president of Belle Grove Plantation, leads a tour group of Hite family descendants outside Fort Bowman off Fort Bowman Road near Strasburg Friday afternoon. Fort Bowman, which was built around 1753, was the residence of George Bowman, son-in-law of Jost Hite. Belle Grove acquired the property in 2006 and are working open the property to the public in five to 10 years. The Hite Family Reunion is being held this weekend at Belle Grove. Rich Cooley/Daily
