A Manassas man accused of inflicting more than 30 stab wounds on another man will undergo a mental health evaluation after Judge Dennis L. Hupp granted a motion from a defense attorney Tuesday in Warren County Circuit Court.
Hupp ordered the evaluation for Joshua Christopher Profitt, 29, of Manassas. Profitt faces charges of attempted first degree murder, aggravated malicious wounding and unlawful stabbing. He is accused of attacking Christopher Stephens, 22, of 3163 Freezeland Road, Linden, in the early morning hours of April 20 at Stephens's home.
Profitt's next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 18.
