Strasburg couple charged in roadway fight

Shenandoah County deputies arrested and charged a couple Sunday in Strasburg with offenses related to a domestic dispute in which the woman is alleged to have bumped a man with a car, and the man is alleged to have attacked her after she left the car to check on him.

Tasha Nicole Tolbert, 261 Stonewall St., Strasburg, was charged with malicious wounding and Justin Lee Webster, also of 261 Stonewall St., Strasburg, is charged with assault and battery of a family member.

Lt. Darcy Dellinger of the Shenandoah County Sheriff's Office said deputies were dispatched at 5 a.m. Sunday to Funk Road in Strasburg where they found Tolbert and Webster. Dellinger said Tolbert received injuries to her face and Webster was suffering from leg and hip injuries.

Dellinger said they gave conflicting stories about fighting in the roadway.

"I believe she bumped him with the car first because he was out of the car," Dellinger said. "She checked on him when she got out of the car. That's when he started to fight some more."

The couple's court date is scheduled for 9 a.m. Aug. 9 in Shenandoah County Juvenile and Domestic Court.
