Suspect arrested after Saturday night shooting

After fleeing the scene of a shooting Saturday night in White Post, the suspect, John Archie Tigney, 65, was arrested at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, according to the Clarke County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded to a shooting at 9:16 p.m., Saturday in the 100 block of Double Toll Gate Road in White Post. Upon arrival, a victim was found with gunshot wounds to his lower leg, but he refused medical attention, according to a news release sent out on Sunday.
Tigney was identified as the suspect, though he fled the scene before deputies arrived. Felony warrants had been obtained for Tigney for possession of a firearm after being a convicted felon, the release states.
Tigney was arrested without incident at his residence in the 16000 block of Lord Fairfax Highway in White Post. He has been transported to the Northwester Regional Adult Detention Center in Winchester where a magistrate is holding him without bond.
