Two accidents on I-81 back up traffic

At about 5:30 p.m. Sunday, a two vehicle collision was reported at mile marker 303 on northbound I-81, according to Frederick County dispatch.

One patient was transported to Winchester Medical Center for treatment of "minor injuries."

Dispatch said traffic would most likely continue to be backed up as a second accident was reported at around 7:30 p.m. at mile marker 300, also northbound. Virginia State Police was handling the collision, and further information was not available Sunday evening.

I took a rare "trip" on I-81 yesterday and I can see why motorists are wrecking all of the time. People ride two feet from your rear bumper and weave in and out of traffic without enough space to do so. Then, there is the speed factor; people flying up the road. I was going 70 and was getting passed as if I were standing still. Needless to say, I exited and took RT 11 only after a few miles because of the crazy way people were driving. I-81 like a sadistic verson of Mario Kart racing !!
