Edinburg woman charged with malicious wounding
Daily staff report
Shenandoah County sheriff's deputies say they arrested an Edinburg woman and charged her with malicious wounding Sunday after a confrontation in which another person was also charged.
Deputies reported that Sierra Nicole Miller, 23, of 4064 Rose Bud Court, hit another female on the side of the head with a bottle. Lt. Darcy Dellinger said the victim was taken to Shenandoah Memorial Hospital with a non-life threatening injury.
Dellinger said the conflict grew out of a confrontation the night before involving different people. Miller went to a residence where the victim was inside with several others, and an argument broke out, he said.
Deputies also arrested Richard David Runion Jr., 46, of 284 Dale Drive in Mount Jackson as a result of the incident. He was charged with brandishing a firearm. Dellinger said Runion displayed the gun in a threatening manner in response to Miller's alleged attack on the victim.
Both defendants are scheduled to appear at 9 a.m. Sept. 21 in Shenandoah County General District Court.
