Shenandoah County sheriff's deputies charged a Maurertown man with assault and battery of a law enforcement officer and several other offenses during an arrest at his home at 757 Burke Hill Road on July 26.
Anthony Carroll Getz, 29, is also charged with appearing drunk in public, two counts of disorderly conduct and obstruction of justice.
Shenandoah County sheriff's Lt. Tom Shelton said neither of the deputies involved in the arrest required medical attention. Shelton said Getz was arrested after deputies responded to complaints about a confrontation between Getz and other people on the roadway in the 500 block of Burke Hill Road. Witnesses reported that Getz made threatening remarks, Shelton said.
Shelton said the deputies found Getz at his home where he made a striking motion toward one of them. but his intended target prevented him from making contact.
"It took two deputies to get him under control," Shelton said.
Shelton said Getz was released from custody on $2,500 secured bond.

Every day people act as if they have no common sense so what is the difference in this person from any other that does things like this and its never posted in the news?
I really think that we need to find better things to report on other than who has done what wrong and not wait 18 days later.
