The Board of Supervisors meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The agenda includes:
- A report from Assistant County Administrator Mary T. Price on proposed upgrades to the audio system in the supervisors' meeting and conference rooms.
- A discussion about documents required by the Department of Housing and Community Development for a Community Development Block Grant for the Shenandoah County Free Clinic expansion project
- Consideration of a request from Patrick and April McMullen to rezone property at 23101 Old Valley Pike, Woodstock, from agricultural to general business use to expand Valley Collision
- A closed session to discuss a contract with Charterhouse School for educational services for the Edinburg School project, and a contract with Caldwell-Santmyer for design-build services for the Edinburg School/Historic Courthouse project. The board also plans to use the closed session to discuss the hiring and appointment of members to the Department of Social Services Board, the Tourism Council and the Board of Zoning Appeals.
The Town Council Infrastructure Committee meets at 3 p.m. Monday in the break room at the wastewater treatment plant. Staff will update members on the following:
- Water treatment plant
- Upgrades to the wastewater treatment plant
- Public Works Department facility
- Capital Improvement Plan
- Water system model
- Madison Heights stormwater improvements
- The Downtown Streetscape Enhancement Project and replacement of the King Street water and sewer lines
The Public Safety and Recreation Committee meets at 5:30 p.m. Monday. The committee will see a presentation on a proposed dog park.
The Planning Commission meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The commission will hold a public hearing on the proposed town community plan after which they will take action on the document. The panel also will discuss and take action on proposed modifications to the town code pertaining to parking recreational vehicles on private property.
Town Council meets at 7 p.m. Monday. Council plans to hold public hearings on:
- A proposed ordinance amendment to the town code pertaining to parking restrictions in the gazebo area lot. If approved spaces marked by green stripes shall be restricted between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. unless otherwise approved by the town manager. Also an ordinance, if approved, would prohibit parking in any location where the curb is marked with yellow paint.
- A request from AVG Holdings LLC to revise proffers associated with a rezoning application for several parcels conditionally rezoned in 1991 from residential to commercial. If approved the changes would allow two existing structures at 602 and 604 Radham St. to be used for single-family residential purposes until converted for commercial uses. The current proffer restricts all uses other than professional offices, barber and beauty shops, banks and financial institutions, retail and personal services. The revised proffers also include minor changes in the details of the 15-foot wide landscape strip. The property is currently in the commercial district and adjacent to the downtown business land use designation of the town plan although shown for future multifamily residential (medium density) use.
Council will hold a work session following the regular meeting to discuss:
- A resolution to renew the town's involvement in a deer management program
- A fence encroachment at 311 Blue Ridge Ave.
- The water line on Stuart Drive
- An ordinance amendment to town code pertaining to the requirement for second readings by council.
The Planning Commission meets at 7 p.m. Monday.
The Parks and Recreation Committee meets at 5 p.m. Monday.
