The driver of a compact car was taken to Warren Memorial Hospital on Thursday morning after hitting a utility pole in Front Royal.
Fire Chief Richard E. Mabie said the driver's injuries did not appear to be life threatening. Mabie said paramedics were called to the accident scene at Alex Lane and Remount Road between 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. The name of the victim could not be obtained Thursday.
Mabie said the impact of the collision dislodged an electrical transformer on the pole, but he had received no reports of any power outage in the surrounding neighborhood.
