Dr. Matthew Karen, a board-certified facial plastic surgeon, has recertified and completed the maintenance of certificate in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery required every 10 years.
The recertification process is rigorous and requires a surgeon to document his surgical caseload over the current year and support his training and experience by obtaining letters of recommendation. Applicants are then required to complete a written and oral examination. Karen completed the process in June and was notified of his recertification earlier this month.
