Try MEATLESS MONDAYS and start working toward cleaner arteries and better health.
I would do meatless Mondays or Wednesdays if it would make things better in the politcal realm. Is there a food Coop around Diane? I can remember when I was a kid, My mom had us in a food coop where we would get...good food. Everyone involved payed in....and it was good quality.
I go to the Friendly City Co-Op in Harrisonburg.
Diana, I think they stopped printing the markets for a while because of us.
Continue eating meat, but make sure it's local, clean, healthy, natural meat. Have a good weekend!
Thanks for the info Rusty, I'll have to check the Co-op out.
If unable to raise beef yourself, D & M meats (Hovatter farm) in Mt. Jackson is the best grain fed marbled beef around. All black angus. If you like the healthier grass fed beef, Holsinger Homeplace farms in Broadway is my best recommendation. They raise the Galloways which in my opinion are the best tasting grass fed variety. Both farms give a very enjoyable life to their cattle and you don't have to worry about horomones, steroids or anything else that's not natural.
I forgot the best part...both the Hovatters and the Holsingers dry age their meat. This extracts the moisture from the meat. When this happens the tissue breakdown results in even better flavor and you don't pay for water weight.
cool! Ive been copying and pasting things from off here the past few days. Thanks "howboutthemotel". there are always other options. I do like my Angus Beef. Really any type of meat, rabbit or Duck.
I'm hoping everyone else see's the postings also!,
