Weekly meetings Sept. 3By Alex Bridges - abridges@nvdaily.com Warren County Supervisors may discuss and take action on a proposed ordinance to define the term "intimidating dog," to describe the procedure for the court to determine a dog is intimidating and to detail the disposition of a dog found intimidating by the court. The board plans to take action on a petition to set a special election to fill the vacancy of the Office of the Commissioner of the Revenue. Supervisors also may award a contract to conduct the 2015 real estate property reassessment. The board will enter into a closed session to discuss the Shenandoah Farms Sanitary District manager position and appointments to the Microenterprise Management Team and the Board of Zoning Appeals. Supervisors also plan to discuss legal matters such as McClosky v. King, et al, and potential or probable litigation. Following the regular meeting supervisors will hold a work session to discuss items for the next town-county liaison committee meeting, proposed Building Inspections Implementation Plan and employee bonuses for fiscal 2013. The board also plans to review and take action on site plans for the New Market Eagles Nest and Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative. Strasburg Strasburg Town Council meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Council will hold a public hearing and then a discussion with possible action on the proposed Strasburg Community Plan. Members also plan to discuss the proposed location for a dog park and a change in the town code related to utility bill collections. New Market The Public Works Committee plans to discuss and consider an ordinance pertaining to billing polices for water and sewer services, and an upgrade to the waterline associated with the New Market Eagles expansion. The Public Safety Committee plans to discuss an addition to the town code to define a penalty for soliciting without appropriate registration. The proposed change would provide the court system with direction on maximum penalties for a person found guilty of the chapter. The Tourism, Economic Development and Historic Preservation Committee plans to discuss town website upgrades and a request by the New Market Area Chamber of Commerce for the 2012 annual Heritage Days Fall Festival scheduled for Oct. 27 and 28.
