The Frederick County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for help regarding suspicious vehicles and people seen near children this week in The Ravens subdivision off U.S. 50 east of Winchester.
On Monday, a woman told the sheriff's office she'd seen a small teal Ford Ranger pickup with an extended cab drive by her Kinross Drive home and later park down the street, according to a news release. She saw a man who appeared to be hiding behind the bed of the truck as her son rode a scooter nearby.
As the woman ran toward her child, the man - described as white with shaggy brown hair - got in the pickup and left, according to the release.
The next day, a woman near Taggart Drive told police her son thought he was being followed home by an electric-blue Ford Ranger, the release states. The pickup was parked near the woman's house, but no information about its occupant was obtained.
A neighbor of the woman on Kinross Drive told law enforcement officers that she'd seen a pickup matching the description of that reported in the suspicious incidents in the area on Sunday, the release states. There were two white men inside.
The release asks the public to report any sightings of the vehicle, but not to approach it or the occupant. Anyone with any information is asked to call Capt. Allen Sibert at 662-6162.
