Daily staff report
A water line break on West 14th Street in Front Royal on Thursday spurred the town to shut off service to the area.
The water will be turned off for several hours as workers make repairs, according to Robert Boyer, water and sewer line maintenance supervisor for the town.
The break will affect the Chimney Fields area, Boyer notes.
Town Manager Steven Burke said crews were working to repair a sewer line when they inadvertently struck the pipe on West 14th Street.
The outage could cause temporary discoloration in the drinking water, Boyer advises. However the drinking water is safe to drink, according to the supervisor.
Run a cold tap until the water clears, Boyer states. Users also should check water for discoloration before running washing machines.
Anyone with questions is advised to call the office at 635-7819.
