Police investigating shooting as an accidentOfficers conclude man shot in chest while trying to dislodge roundFront Royal police are investigating what they describe as an accidental shooting Tuesday afternoon that sent a 26-year-old man to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. They identified the victim as Jon Michael Bryzinski. Chief Norman Shiflett said in a news release that officers were sent to 508 Grand Ave. at about 2 p.m. after a 911 call from Bryzinksi's wife reporting that he had been shot. The officers concluded that Bryzinski had been shot in the chest while he tried to dislodge a round from a shotgun. He was taken to Warren Memorial Hospital and later airlifted to Inova Hospital in Fairfax, police reported. Shiflett said police are continuing to investigate.
