A West Virginia driver and a passenger were hospitalized late Sunday night when their car went off Va. 55 in Shenandoah County, hit a tree and overturned.
State police Sgt. F.L. "Les" Tyler said the accident happened around 10 p.m. Sunday about one-tenth of a mile west of Va. 754. Tyler said the car driven by Roger Allen See, 22, of Lost River, W.Va. was eastbound when See swerved to avoid hitting a deer and ran off the road.
Tyler said See and a passenger, Robert Thomas Greenfield, 18, address unknown, were transported to Winchester Medical Center. Neither occupant was wearing a seat belt, Tyler said. Investigating trooper D.A. Dean charged See with drunk driving, Tyler said.
