The following public meetings are scheduled this week:
Shenandoah County
The Tourism Council meets at noon Tuesday in the Woodstock Café. The council agenda includes an update on the Artisan Trail project and a discussion on improvements to the website.
New Market
Town Council meets at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Arthur J. Hildreth Jr. Municipal Building. The agenda includes a discussion and consideration of a resolution in support of the town's grant application to the Industrial Revitalization Fund.
Warren County
The Parks and Recreation Commission meets at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the Warren County Community Center, 538 Villa Ave., Front Royal.
The Board of Supervisors meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Warren County Government Center. The agenda includes a presentation and possible approval of the county's telecommunications plan as well as a report on sewage and biosolids. Supervisors also plan to hold public hearings, beginning at 7:30 p.m., on the following:
- A proposed ordinance to amend the county code to require the owner of a dangerous dog to pay restitution to any person injured or to the owner of an animal injured or killed; to add a standard before the court can determine a dog dangerous; and to change the procedures and fees for registering dangerous dogs with animal
- A proposed ordinance to amend the county code for payment of a one-time bonus in fiscal 2013 to employees
- A proposed 5-year-lease to the Shenandoah Area Agency on Aging for its senior center at 1217 Commonwealth Ave.
- A proposed ordinance to amend the county code to allow the replacement of non-conforming communication structures
Supervisors also plan to enter into a closed session to discuss a possible appointment to the county microenterprise management team
Front Royal
Town Council meets at 7 p.m. Monday to hold a work session.
