Authorities: He broke into cars in Woodstock and stole items
By Joe Beck
A Woodstock man is facing 25 charges linking him to a string of thefts from vehicles and vehicle break-ins from mid-August until mid-October.
Police arrested Boyd Milton Helsley III, 20, at his home at 58 Woodpark Lane, Woodstock, police Investigator Derek Good said Thursday. The charges against Helsley include grand larceny, petit larceny, vandalism and entering or setting in motion a vehicle.
Good said Helsley is being held without bond in the Shenanadoah County Jail. A court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 19.
Helsley is also charged with single counts of vandalism and grand larceny from incidents in March.
Good said Helsley entered 12 or 13 vehicles in Woodstock during a crime spree that spanned two months. Helsley broke into the vehicles through their windows and stole electronic devices, Good said.
Good said the investigation is continuing and other charges are likely to be filed.
"We're still trying to track things down," Good said, adding, "other people may be involved."
