C.E. Thompson taking Hurricane Sandy donations

Those looking to donate items to victims of Superstorm Sandy can do so until about 5 p.m. Friday at C.E. Thompson & Sons, 201 Stoney Creek Blvd., Edinburg.

The Shenandoah County and Page County Girl Scouts are leading the drive.

Numerous items are needed, including:
• 5-gallon buckets
• rubber and work gloves
• sponges
• contractor-grade garbage bags
• cleaning supplies
• cereal
• bread
• protein bars
• water
• sheets and blankets
• children's books and games
• soap
• sleeping bags
• small flashlights
• diapers
• pet supplies
• batteries
• bleach
