Bryce Resort plans to open slopes on Saturday

Daily staff reports

Slopes are expected to be open for skiers and snowboarders starting Saturday at Bryce Resort, according to a news release from the resort.

They'll be helped to the summit by a new quad lift that features a ChairKiD loading conveyor, according to the release. It's geared with less-experienced skiers in mind, and can transport about 1,800 people an hour, it states.

"The loading system allows for an easy transition for a guest going from beginner surface lifts to an aerial chair lift," the release states.

The new lift brings the total number of lifts at Bryce to five, according to the release. There are eight trails, as well as ski and snowboard schools and racing programs, it states.
