Hearings set on state budget

The public has an opportunity to comment on Gov. Bob McDonnell's proposed amendments to the 2012-2014 biennial state budget beginning Jan. 4.
The House of Delegates Appropriations Committee and the Senate Finance Committee of the Virginia General Assembly plan to hold public hearings around the state to receive comments. The hearing in the Northern Shenandoah Valley region will be held at noon in the Corron Community Development Center at the Middletown campus of the Lord Fairfax Community College.
People wishing to speak may register at each site no earlier than one hour prior to the start of the hearing. Speakers will be heard in order of registration. Each person may register one speaker at a time. Comments will be limited to three minutes.
