A Strasburg man is facing four gun-related charges in Shenandoah County General District Court after deputies arrested him Saturday for allegedly firing at least two shots into a neighbor's property.
Shenandoah County Sheriff's Office Maj. Scott Proctor said deputies charged Barry Scott Walker, 48, of 12918 Back Road, with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, reckless handling of a firearm, brandishing a firearm and shooting across a roadway.
Proctor said deputies were sent to the 12000 block of Back Road at about 9:30 p.m. in response to a report of shots fired. Proctor said deputies arriving at the scene determined that Walker had fired two shots across the road into a neighbor's property. No injuries were reported.
"It seems it was some type of neighbor dispute involving dogs reported running at large and barking," Proctor said.
Proctor said investigators seized a 300 Winchester magnum hunting rifle from Walker, along with several cartridges.
Proctor said Walker was released from jail on a $3,500 secured bond. His next court date is scheduled for 11 a.m. Dec. 28.
