Fire and rescue personnel prepare to transport a 17-year-old girl to Shenandoah Memorial Hospital after her 2006 Toyota minivan ran off the road and struck a tree on Old Valley Pike south of Woodstock around 3:10 p.m. Tuesday. Sgt. F.L. (Les) Tyler of the Virginia State Police said the victim's van hit the tree after initially hitting another vehicle in the rear end as the other driver was stopped to make a left hand turn. Tyler said the 17-year-old girl was issued a citation for reckless driving. The driver of the other vehicle was uninjured. Rich Cooley/Daily
