Public meetings Dec. 17-21
The Tourism Council meets at noon Tuesday at Woodstock Café, 117 S. Main St. The council plans to hear updates on the Artisan Trail, the website and the visitor guide. They will also discuss National Tourism Week.
The Water Resources Advisory Committee meets at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Board of Supervisors conference room.
Town Council meets at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Arthur J. Hildreth Jr. Municipal Building, 9418 John Sevier Road, New Market. Council plans to hold a public hearing on a proposal to change the polling place for general elections from the municipal building to the New Market Fire and Rescue Department, 9771 S. Congress St.
Council then plans to discuss and possibly take action on the public hearing item. Council also plans to discuss and consider:
Appointments to the Planning Commission and the Historic Overlay District Review Board
The town's Capital Improvement Plan
An additional street light on Shenandoah Drive
Town Council meets in closed session 6:30 p.m. Monday in Town Hall, 174 W. King St., to discuss the acquisition or disposition of property. Council then will convene a work session at 7 p.m. where they will hear an update on the wastewater treatment plant upgrade project and discuss a proposed water storage tank and other improvements to the water system. Council plans to reconvene in a closed session to discuss personnel matters.
The Board of Supervisors meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Warren County government center. The board plans to continue its discussion of the annexation request filed by the Front Royal Limited Partnership.
Supervisors will hold public hearings at 7:30 p.m. on:
A conditional-use permit for short-term tourist rental requested by Steven L. Muha and Robert G. Pollock
A conditional-use permit requested by APC Self Storage Inc. for storage of recreational vehicles, boats and cars, excluding the storage of inoperable vehicles
A request to amend the county zoning ordinance to replace the definitions of boarding kennel, commercial and non-commercial kennel, and to add such uses as those allowed by conditional-use permit in the agricultural district. The proposed amendment would allow non-commercial kennels by conditional-use permit in the rural residential district. The amendment also would add supplementary regulations for the kennels.
Supervisors also plan to meet in closed session to discuss appointments to the Shenandoah Area Agency on Aging board and the Warren County Airport Commission.

Council also plans to meet in closed session to discuss a prospective business or industry, or the expansion of an existing business or industry.
The Transportation Committee meets at 8:30 a.m. Monday in the first-floor conference room of the Frederick County government center, 107 N. Kent St. Winchester. The committee plans to discuss updates to the Metropolitan Planning Organization's work plan. The panel also will hear a report on the Virginia Department of Transportation's work on the Opequon Creek Bridge project.
The Industrial Development Authority holds its re-organizational meeting at 10 a.m. Monday in the Board of Supervisors closed session room at the government center. The authority also will discuss authorization to sponsor and spend money to host an economic and legislative reception on Jan. 17 in Richmond, for local elected representatives and state agencies to promote industry, develop trade and increase commerce for the benefit of Frederick County.
The Community Policies Management Team meets at 1 p.m. Monday in the county government center.
The Frederick County Sanitation Authority meets at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the boardroom of the authority's administration building, 315 Tasker Road, Stephens City. The authority will hold a public hearing on its revised rules and regulations. The board also will hear several reports and discuss a public hearing on a bulk water sale set for Feb. 19.
The School Board holds a work session at 6 p.m. Tuesday followed by a regular meeting at 7 p.m. in the administration office.
The Board of Supervisors Finance Committee meets at 8 a.m. Wednesday in the first-floor conference room.
The Winchester-Frederick County Metropolitan Planning Organization meets at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the first-floor conference room.
The tourism board meets at 8 a.m. Thursday.
The Winchester Regional Airport Authority meets at 5 p.m. Thursday at the airport.
Town Council committees meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
