Woodstock police are looking for a man they say tried to rob the China Wok restaurant at 1019 S. Main St. at about 7:50 p.m. Sunday.
Authorities said in a news release Monday that a suspect wearing a ski mask threatened the restaurant owner with two knives as he was emptying trash at the back of the building. The suspect forced the owner back into the restaurant while demanding money from the cash register, police said.
Police said the restaurant owner threw a glass jar filled with coins at the suspect and struck him in the head. The suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction and remained at large as of Monday evening, according to police.
The suspect is described as a male 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall. Anyone with information is asked to call Investigator Derek Good of the Woodstock Police Department at 459-2141.
