A Mt. Jackson man died after a single-vehicle crash on Orkney Grade on Sunday, said state police spokesman Sgt. F. L. "Les" Tyler.
A 2000 Dodge Caravan was traveling west on Orkney Grade Road, near the intersection of Lutz Hollow Road, when it went into a curve and ran off the road, Tyler said. The vehicle hit a sign, then went in a residence's yard and hit a tree, Tyler said.
Christopher R. Dickson of Mt. Jackson died at the scene as a result of injuries sustained in the crash, Tyler said.
Trooper J.L. Street is investigating the crash. Dickson was not wearing a seat belt and alcohol is being investigated as a factor in the crash, Tyler said.
