Strasburg man dies in single-vehicle crash

Daily staff report

A Strasburg man died after a single-vehicle crash Saturday night in Warren County, said state police spokesman Sgt. F.L. "Les" Tyler.

Around 10:45 p.m., a 2010 Ford F-350 truck driven by Lawrence Turner, 58, of Strasburg, was traveling west on Interstate 66 at mile marker 2 when it hit an embankment and overturned, Tyler said.

Both Turner and passenger, Mitchell Butler, 25, of Winchester, neither of whom were wearing seat belts, were ejected, Tyler said. Turner was taken to Winchester Medical Center and died at 11:35 p.m. as a result of injuries sustained in the crash, Tyler said.

Trooper P.M. Neff is investigating the crash. The crash remains under investigation, Tyler said, and alcohol is being looked at as a possible factor.
