Shenandoah County deputies charged a Central High School student on Feb. 6 with possession of a weapon on school property.
Shenandoah County deputy Darcy Dellinger said a school administrator found a knife in the backpack of Dorothy Jean Youtzy, 18, of 223 Lakeview Drive, Woodstock, on Jan. 14. The knife's blade exceeded the legal limit of 3 inches, Dellinger said.
Youtzy came to the attention of the administrator after someone called the Sheriff's Office to report two students smoking on school property at about 8:40 a.m., Dellinger said.
Youtzy was served with an arrest warrant last week and an appearance in Shenandoah County General District Court is scheduled for 9 a.m. Feb. 22.
