Toms Brook man accused of stabbing roommate
Shenandoah County sheriff's deputies arrested a 48-year-old Toms Brook man after investigating a stabbing at his residence around 7:15 a.m. Wednesday.
Joseph Franklin Baylis of 1625 Mount Olive Road was arrested at his residence and charged with malicious wounding and assault and battery in what police described as a disagreement with his roommate that escalated into violence.
Lt. Darcy Dellinger said Baylis struck his roommate on the side of the face and stabbed him in the left forearm. Dellinger said the victim refused medical treatment at the scene.
Dellinger said Baylis is being held without bond in the county jail and is scheduled to appear in Shenandoah County Circuit Court at 9 a.m. on Feb. 14.
