Woman jumps off bridge spanning I-81

A woman jumped off the Mount Olive Road bridge over Interstate 81 near Toms Brook early Tuesday morning, according to the Virginia State Police.

Sgt. F.L. (Les) Tyler said Trooper F.B. Ingham was called to the scene at 4:22 a.m. He said the victim was taken to Winchester Medical Center. Tyler said he had no information on the woman's condition, her identity or motive for jumping.
