Former employee sues landscaping company
A former employee of a Front Royal landscaping company filed a federal lawsuit Monday accusing the firm of violating his rights under the Americans for Disability Act.
Malcolm Wyche is asking for an unspecified amount money in backpay, compensatory and punitive damages, plus retroactive reinstatement to his former job with Pitman's Tree & Landscaping, Inc.
The suit contends that Pitman's failed to accommodate his disability, which was diagnosed as Rhabdomyolysis in 2008. The suit describes the condition as "a condition in which damaged skeletal muscle tissue breaks down rapidly."
The suit also accuses Pitman's of firing Wyche instead of making reasonable accommodation to his condition.
