GOP holds candidates forum

Shenandoah County Republicans plan to hold a forum Monday for candidates seeking the party's nomination to run for election to the Board of Supervisors.
The "Meet the Candidate" event takes place from 7-9 p.m. in the former Toms Brook School, 3235 Main St. The free event is open to the public. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own folding chairs.
Cindy Bailey and Steven Shaffer are seeking the party's nomination to run for the District 4 seat on the Board of Supervisors. Marsha Shruntz is challenging incumbent Supervisor Dennis Morris for the District 5 seat. All candidates currently known to be running for supervisors' seats have been invited to participate.
Candidates may make short, 7-10 minute statements. Organizers then plan to take questions from the audience .
The event comes in advance of Republican Party precinct meetings set for 7:30 p.m. Thursday in th Shenandoah County Circuit Court in Woodstock for District 4; and at the Toms Brook Fire Department, 3342 Main St.; Lebanon Church Community Center at 43 Post Office Road; and Cedar Creek Community Center, 6211 Zepp Road for District 5.
