Juvenile detention center superintendent resigns

Superintendent Jim Stevenson of the Northwestern Regional Juvenile Detention Center submitted his resignation Wednesday, citing personal reasons.
A news release from the Detention Center's commission said the resignation was effective immediately. The commission appointed Assistant Superintendent Erin Maloney as acting superintendent until a permanent replacement is found.
Stevenson began working at the Detention Center in 1997 and held the superintendent's job for the last eight years.
