Man accused of drunk driving in two crashes

State police charged a Winchester man with drunk driving and hit and run after investigating two crashes involving a single vehicle on Back Mountain Road in Frederick County around 5:20 p.m. Wednesday.

Sgt. F.L (Les) Tyler said a 2003 Suburu Outback driven by David Michael Duplantis, 60, ran off the road and struck a utility phone box on the side of the road. The vehicle continued about a half mile south until it ran into a ditch and hit an embankment, Tyler said.

He said Duplaintis was uninjured in both accidents.
