No crime found in incident involving man and children in house

An incident early Saturday morning that drew law enforcement officers from four jurisdictions ended with no arrest or charge filed against the suspect, an official from the Warren County Sheriff's Office said Monday.

Capt. Kerry Magalis said a call received at 12:37 a.m. drew "quite a few" members of the Sheriff's Office, state police, Front Royal police and Winchester police to 2244 Strasburg Road.

Initial reports suggested that a man had violated a protective order and was in the house with children.

"The response was as if there were children in danger," Magalis said.

Magalis said the suspect had fled by the time police arrived, and further investigation determined there was no probable cause to charge him with anything.

"We're very fortunate it was mostly a non-event," Magalis said.
